[SH]  When I was very small, and scared of something near,

My mother always told me to whistle.

She said, “Just pucker up.  You’ll overcome your fear

If you’ll just face what scares you, and whistle.”

I never listened to what she said to do.

It makes no sense to whistle when you’re frightened through and through.

But now that I am grown, I think of mother dear,

And of the good advice she gave her son.

And each time something scares me, I just look it in the eye,

And whistle… then I run!
